Easy Introduction to Cocone 10th Period: Human Resources and Labor
Hello, this is Momoko, an HR recruiting intern!
Cocone has developed various applications such as ” Pokecolo ” Pokecolo Twin “Hello Sweet Days.
Each is a team effort of various employees in planning, design, and development.
This is a project to introduce the work of Cocone in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
Easy Introduction to Cocone is also in its 10th period!
In this issue, you will learn about the work of human resources!
The word “personnel” conjures up images of interviewers, but apparently not so much personnel.
Let’s go then! The teachers are S, M, and Y.
What is the role of Human Resources?
Human resources and labor affairs are responsible for creating systems and benefits for employees so that they can work with peace of mind.
Based on the secure working environment, we would like to encourage our employees to improve their performance, and as a company, we would like to deliver more Cocone services to the world.
As for the division of roles within HR, Ms. M and Mr. Y are responsible for providing HR services necessary for all employees, such as payroll and social insurance, while I am directly involved with the business unit and work to resolve issues between people and the organization. My job is what is nowadays called HRBP (Human Resource Business Partner) in the HR area, and Cocone has begun to strengthen its activities in this area this year.
A company can provide good service to its customers only when it has an environment in which employees can work properly.
What are your daily operations?
We are doing the essential things for employees to work such as payroll, social insurance, entry/exit procedures, attendance, etc. on a daily basis. In addition, we are also considering new actions to improve our personnel system so that our employees can work in better health. Specifically, we are promoting health management and acquiring certification as a corporation with excellent health management.
I also conduct monthly employee surveys to understand the condition of the organization, conduct one-on-one interviews with employees, and provide post-employment support (onboarding) for mid-career hires. I also hold MTG meetings to share the results of these meetings with division managers and management.
I know labor is a part of every company, but what is unique about Cocone’s labor?
Cocone was originally founded by Chairman Sen in an effort to create an ideal corporate organization. With this philosophy in mind, we have been deeply committed to our employees and have enhanced the comfort of our work environment. Specifically, we have built a cafeteria and established a wellness team to provide physical exercise programs for our employees. We do not consider these as “benefits,” but as something that should be provided.
Coconnex is famous for its generous programs, such as the deli and gym, where a chef cooks for you.
Is that also maintained by the labor folks?
Yes, it is. As a result of our predecessors’ efforts, the groundwork has already been laid. As a company with a short history like ours, we are working while thinking that it is important to take a stance of taking action based on the personnel philosophy.
You are protecting and enhancing what your predecessors have created.
What do you find most rewarding about your job?
The various institutions of Cocone are not yet complete and will continue to develop. Since they are not yet complete, there are many areas where we can improve and develop them ourselves. For example, we are building a corporate pension system and promoting health management. It is interesting to put those things in place.
Since the services provided by Cocone are creative, our employees are also very creative. It is very enjoyable to be able to support these creators who create such a new world.
On the other hand, what are the difficulties?
Work is not completed by a single person, especially in human resources, where communication with management and business managers occurs. As much as possible, I try to get involved by actively making suggestions and talking to them. In doing so, I try to communicate in a way that is easy for them to understand without using specialized HR language.
Even though everyone in labor is involved in complex tasks such as procedures and processing,
I have an image of them being willing to answer any questions I have.
I think we have members who find it rewarding to support you all (laughs),
Employees are encouraged to contact us if they have any questions after reviewing our internal portal and announcements!
Thank you very much!
What are some of the things you are aware of and need to do in your work?
Since labor relations is a rule-making role, knowledge of related laws and rules is necessary as a base. However, as we are in a position to create a comfortable working environment for everyone, I think it is also important to have an interest in people and a mindset of wanting to support them.
People and organizations always have some kind of issue or problem that you are having, so I always try to be aware of this and look for it as I conduct my business.
Since Cocone already has a base in terms of ease of work, I am involved in the business units to see if there is anything we can do to enhance “job satisfaction” on top of that. I conduct monthly and semi-annual surveys to understand the issues, and if it is a company-wide issue, I contact management. If it is an individual issue, I have a one-on-one with the member directly or approach the relevant superior.
We want to support you so that you can work more comfortably! It is important for us to do so.
Finally, what are your goals and what would you like to do in the future?
Since Cocone has a good base and facilities, I would like to establish a system and structure that will reflect the results of your work over the long term. For example, we would like to create a more secure and comfortable environment, including a more generous corporate pension plan and retirement benefits, in order to further build a foundation that will enable you to produce results.
As for HRBP’s activities, we would like to lay the groundwork for people to be motivated to work in order to achieve our business. For example, most recently, we would like to conduct 1-on-1 meetings as an infrastructure for communication between members and leaders who serve in management positions.
Thank you very much, labor!
I’m sure you have discovered a lot of new things, so let’s wrap this up again!
It was a wonderful job that allowed you to work directly with the employees that Cocone values so much….
