Cocone Corporation (headquartered in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo; Yosuke Tomita, President; hereinafter referred to as ” Cocone “) celebrated its 12th anniversary on September 4, 2020.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of Cocone’s service customers and related parties who have supported our progress to date.

It is the year 2020, a milestone year, but the world has been through the ordeal of the Corona disaster.

Since the outbreak of this unknown virus, we have also been asked to adapt to major changes in the way we work, our relationships with our families, our living environment, and many other aspects.

Despite the difficult adversity, we hope that Cocone will take this opportunity to evolve by reaffirming what it means to gather in an office and also by reforming the way we do business.

As one example, Kokone has been able to implement a company-wide ” remote work” style of work ” it had been considering for some time.

In addition, the first online ” remote employee meeting,” which was ” this year, has the advantage of increasing interactivity compared to previous employee meetings.

Specifically, the barriers between senders and participants were removed, and participants became involved in the meeting by applauding, commenting, and discussing via Slack, a business chat system. Warm interactions were also seen throughout the meeting, with new employees greeting and being welcomed by other employees on the spot.

Rather than having participating employees listen to a one-way talk, all employees can now use Slack to send out some sort of message at any time, creating a better style of general meeting than the previous one, in which everyone has a sense of being a party to the meeting.

I would say that the way these general meetings are conducted online is more evolved and better.

The 12th anniversary event was also held online, and a ” commemorative box ” was delivered to each employee’s home in advance of the event, in order to create a sense of connection among the employees. The “commemorative box ” included ” Cocone Original Retort Curry” prepared by the Cocone Deli Team, food related to each of Kokone’s office locations (Sendai, Kyoto, Fukuoka, Seoul, and Shanghai), and a drink for the toast.

On the day of the event, a toast was given by “” toast relay” connecting employees in each year of employment, greetings from executives were delivered, and an original quiz ” Cocone Q,” ” participants could learn more about Kokone by taking part, was conducted using Slack.

As prizes for the quiz, we distributed tickets and products for use at various stores in the shopping district in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, where our head office in Tokyo is located. By telling the participants where the stores were located and what kind of products they sold, we hope that they were able to feel a little more connected to the local residents with whom they have not been able to interact due to Corona.

All of us at Cocone will continue to seek flexible and comfortable ways of working while focusing our wisdom on how we can use the ordeal of the Corona disaster as a springboard to turn it into strength and lead the company into a better future.

We look forward to your continued patronage of Cocone and its services.

Finally, I would like to express my sincere respect and appreciation to the medical personnel and all other parties involved in the effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
