Easy Introduction to Cocone 11th Period: Human Resources Recruitment

Hello, this is Momoko, an HR recruiting intern!
Cocone has developed various applications such as ” Pokecolo ” Pokecolo Twin “Hello Sweet Days.
Each is a team effort of various employees in planning, design, and development.
This is a project to introduce the work of Cocone in a simple and easy-to-understand manner.
This is the 11th and actually the last session ofEasy Introduction to Cocone “.
The job you will be learning about is human resources recruitment!
This is the part I belong to, no matter what.
So this time I would like to talk to you about my work as well.
The two people who teach me are Ms. Shirai, the team leader, and Mr. Watanabe, the design and public relations manager. They are the two people I have always been indebted to.

What is the role of the recruitment team?

Ms. Shirai.
The goal of the current recruiting team is to acquire, or in other words, hire, people that will enable the company to further expand its business.
Mr. Watanabe.
It is to create resources that will strengthen the teams that advance each business and support the company and create opportunities for the professional development and growth of the people who belong to them.
Resources can be “money,” “environment,” “health,” or many other things, but when it comes to recruitment, that resource is “people.

What are your daily operations?

Ms. Shirai.
The first is recruiting operations such as scout sourcing, agent communication, candidate correspondence, and interview correspondence. Scout sourcing involves sending scout e-mails to candidates registered with our media, and agent communication involves discussing job descriptions and providing feedback on the candidates we have introduced to you.
Then there is the preparation of materials for events, etc., for external use, and meetings with internal and external parties.

What are your daily operations?

Mr. Watanabe.
My routine is to look for stories to let people know about Cocone.
We also have public relations duties to write articles based on these articles for the world, and internal public relations duties to create a transparent company for the members of the company.
As a designer, I also create things needed for management, public relations, and recruitment.

What are your daily operations?

Online recruitment events

In addition to the direct recruiting duties of contacting and interviewing candidates,

It means that you have the task of public relations activities to make a wider audience aware of Cocone. (This article also falls into the latter category!)

What do you find most rewarding about your job?

Ms Shirai.
It is the moment when I can meet various people through interviews, etc. every day, and the moment when I can rejoice with the people onsite at the success of the recruitment (gut-pause in my heart)w

It will be interesting to talk with various people!

On the other hand, what are the difficulties?

Mr. Watanabe.
I believe that how we can provide solutions and proposals to the “key point” of wanting people is the way to work from a design perspective. However, I have not yet grasped the essence of how to respond to the “essentials” in both recruitment and public relations.
But, as I cannot grasp the specifics, I write and design articles while trying to figure out, for example, what kind of words resonate with people, what kind of visuals make them excited, and so on.

On the other hand, what are the difficulties?

I’ve only been to the shallow end of the entrance, but I’m deep in both PR and design…

Mr. Shirai.
There are many things that I think are difficult when it comes to recruiting, but if I were to answer your question, I would say team building. The number of people on the recruiting team has increased dramatically in the past few months, so we have been working through a trial-and-error process to onboard members and create a system that allows everyone to work well together.
This is done through 1-on-1s with members and team MTGs.

I also have a regular 1-on-1 with Mr. Shirai!

Your recruitment team has recently increased in number. Why is that?

Ms Shirai.
All in order to achieve twice the growth.
We are hiring in order to create a structure that will enable us to further accelerate our business growth. Cocone is now trying to grow as a company, so we are strengthening our hiring.
Mr. Watanabe.
As a place unlike any other, Cocone has tried many things since its inception, and as we enter our 13th year, we need new people to join us in order to pass this place on to a new generation and to show that the place we have created is a meaningful place for the world. I believe that we are in need of new people to join us.

Your recruitment team has recently increased in number. Why is that?

Indeed, the number of Cocone members continues to grow!

You are hiring more recruiters to hire more people.

Mr. Shirai.
We have not only increased the number of engineers, designers, and planners, but we have also assigned a full-time recruiting manager for engineers, designers, and planners. I believe that this will allow us to work more closely with the field, and to be more multifaceted in our recruitment methods (direct sourcing, company information sessions, webinar events, etc.).
Mr. Watanabe.
Just as design and development are separated by their specialties, I believe that there are specialties in recruitment as well. In terms of designers, graphic design, character design, illustration, etc. are technically quite different. Although there are some parts that are essentially connected, I think it is better to be able to utilize one’s specialty in order to be active and produce good results. I believe that the change from the past system of doing everything all-round to a system that allows for the utilization of specialties has resulted in an increase in the number of personnel for recruitment.

I see, so you have not only increased the number of employees, but you have also made a major change in the system.

Cocone is strengthening its recruitment efforts. What are you particular about when it comes to recruitment?

Ms. Shirai.
Regarding the criteria for hiring, we place great importance on technical skills + communication skills.
It is difficult to be excellent only in technology, and I think that a person who has a sense of balance between both is a characteristic of this type of person.

Cocone is strengthening its recruitment efforts.

Many of Cocone’s employees are warm and friendly.

But since this is an article for job hunters to read, I would like to hear more!

To be frank, what kind of people do you want?

Ms. Shirai.
What I think about other than the skill match would be people who share Cocone’s philosophy and can share the excitement together with us…
Mr. Watanabe.
Someone who does not completely separate his personal life from his professional life.

…Eh? Black company?

Mr. Watanabe.
No, no, no. (laughs) It sounds quite black when I put it this way.
Work is something you continue to do for decades after leaving school, and you cannot separate it from your life, but it is out of the question to become so absorbed in work alone that you neglect yourself and your family.
I prefer people who can see work = what they do at Coconnex as an important part of their life, not only for their professional development, but also for their personal growth.

Indeed!

I think Cocone is a very easy-to-work-white company, so don’t worry! (lol)

Ms. Shirai.
I am also conscious of whether or not I am providing candidates with a selection experience that makes them feel happy to have received Cocone, regardless of the outcome. We do not use template language in small details such as scheduling, and we try to communicate carefully and sincerely with each candidate according to their individual circumstances. I would like to be conscious of this point in my future efforts!

Lovely.

What do you two think is needed for the job of recruitment?

Mr. Shirai.
When it comes to recruiting, I think it is important to have a business (management) perspective and to be able to take care of both the candidate and the interviewer.
Mr. Watanabe.
It is important to know your customers. This means thinking about the kind of people who will play and pay for your app if you are a business unit that produces and operates apps, but if you are hiring, you need to know what the department you are hiring for is doing. If it is Cocone, they should know their services, and how can you find the right people without knowing them? I think.

For the recruiters, it means that every employee who works at Cocone is a customer.

Finally, what are your goals?

Ms. Shirai.
Worked on various recruitment methods so that Cocone’s hiring would be featured in various media,
As a result, we hope to find a catchy recruitment method.
Mr. Watanabe.
Someone who will convey the essence of the good qualities that have made Cocone what it is. It is not about the external appearance, such as having a good “welfare” package, but about the essence of what we want Cocone to be.
I also hope that Cocone itself can become a place that can serve as a role model for society.
We believe that hiring is a job to increase the number of people who understand the essence of the company for this purpose.

Finally, what are your goals?

Thank you, Mr. Shirai and Mr. Watanabe!

This will be the last time I summarize…!

This is the end of a total of 11 easy introductions to Cocone!
