Why Work at Cocone (Legal M.A)

Previously, I worked as an attorney at a law firm. Although being a lawyer was a very rewarding job, I have always enjoyed doing things with a team, and I wanted to work with a team to share the sense of accomplishment and excitement, which led me to consider a career change to a corporate environment.

I decided to join Cocone because it was a growing company in a growing field, and I felt that I could balance my work and personal life with the flex system and remote combination system in place. Of course, the cute apps we make, the clean office, and the delicious lunch were also deciding factors!

The legal team to which I belong is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including not only daily contract checks and legal consultations, but also copyrights, preparation of minutes for board of directors meetings, police and administrative support, in-house lectures, support for new business launches, establishment of subsidiaries, and M&A projects such as business transfers.

Among the recent cases in which I was involved, I was impressed by helping to launch the NFT market and being involved in various procedures related to the transfer of business (M&A) when acquiring an existing service from another company. It is no exaggeration to say that the legal team is involved in every job that involves even a little bit of law, so I think one of the major attractions of the Cocone legal team is that we can gain a broad and deep experience.

Each member of the legal team has his or her own responsibilities, but team members feel free to consult with each other about anything they are unsure about, and everyone discusses difficult matters and shares their opinions.
We have at least two meetings a week to share and resolve any problems or questions that may arise in the course of our work, and if that is not enough, we can force a meeting into the legal manager’s calendar to ask for advice (laugh). (Laughs). I think the atmosphere is very pleasant and easy to work in.

In any job, I am conscious that there is a living person behind me.
For example, if it is an application service provided by Cocone, you can imagine that there are customers behind it.

In the same way, in the case of legal consultation from the site, there is a person in charge of the site who is having trouble behind it, and in the case of contract review, there is a legal department member of the other company behind it.
When presenting a revised or alternative proposal, we try to offer a method that is a little less burdensome for those behind it.

It is a very flexible company.

The company has grown to a size of 500 employees, and internal controls, approval systems, etc. are in place. Of course, labor and benefits are also well organized, and I often feel that they are rather generous.

On the other hand, we are constantly reviewing the system and rules in line with the times and needs, so there are no unnecessary rules, and I think that is a good point unique to venture companies.I think it’s a hybrid company that combines stability and security with a sense of speed!
